. Pro Football Focus put together their first offseason 2019 NFL mock draft with an alternative pick at No. 2. The Arizona Cardinals pick Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa (yep shocker). Following up
Dante Pettis Jersey , the 49ers don’t take Kentucky linebacker Josh Allen, but instead take Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. Here’s what they had to say about the pick: I’d be more for this pick if I didn’t witness Williams mailing in his performance at the CFP National Championship game against Clemson. Williams had a nice tackle for a loss to start things, but was quiet for for most of the game. It was a disappointing display on the biggest stage thus far for him.Even if Williams played lights out like he did for the entire season, the fact remains the 49ers need an edge-rusher far more than they need help on the interior. I’m not ready to give up on Solomon Thomas just yet, and DeForest Buckner is DeForest Buckner. The 49ers have been playing Thomas on the edge which has proven to be a horrible idea on passing downs, and when Thomas is on the interior for the same types of situations, it’s not atrocious. It’s that edge position that he needs to stay far away from. It’s also worth noting that perhaps a change of scenery with the 49ers’ new defensive line coach will help him get it together.Josh Allen not only brings that edge presence, but he also has that versatility. He went at No. 4 to the Oakland Raiders. All that said, if Williams can play up to the potential we all would hope he has, that is an absolutely nasty defensive interior with him and DeForest Buckner running things. But the 49ers would still need an edge-rusher. The San Francisco 49ers have struggled to get much of anything going
Jimmy Garoppolo Color Rush Jersey , but the past couple weeks, wide receiver Dante Pettis has started to emerge. He had four receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown in Week 12, and he followed that up with a career high five receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns. That latter performance is getting Pettis some recognition this week. He has been nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award. This is a fan-voted award, but it is still cool to see him getting recognized for excellence.Other nominees include Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay (157 total yards, two touchdowns), New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (146 total yards), Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James (three tackles, one interception), and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (366 total yards, two touchdowns). My guess is Lindsay gets the win after a big performance in a win
https://www.49ersfanshop.com/Fred-Warner-Jersey , but make sure and vote here.Pettis benefited from some garbage time numbers, but he is performing, and that’s all we can ask in an otherwise lost season. The 49ers final four games are a brutal stretch against some high quality defenses, so there could be a decent amount of garbage time coming up.This weekend, Marquise Goodwin is expected back after missing the past two games while dealing with family issues. Pettis has gotten the most playing time when Goodwin has been absent. On Monday, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Pettis has played all three receiver positions at different points this season, and can move as needed.Pettis likely has earned additional work this coming weekend against the Denver Broncos, but I am curious to see how his snaps are affected by the potential return of Goodwin.
