The Patriots won’t bring defensive back Cyrus Jones back for a third season with the team.
Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports that Jones is among the players who will be cut as the roster drops to 53 players by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Jones was a second-round pick in 2016 and appeared in 10 games during his rookie year as both a defensive player and kick returner. He missed all of last season after a knee injury.
There’s no final word on who earned spots in New England Jamie Meder Jersey , but Jones’ departure could bode well for J.C. Jackson, Keion Crossen and/or Jason McCourty.
According to multiple reports Harrison Phillips Jersey , the Patriots are also parting ways with 2016 third-round pick Vincent Valentine. The defensive tackle also landed on injured reserve with a knee injury last year. He had 19 tackles and a sack in 13 games as a rookie.
Browns wide receiver Antonio Callaway‘s defense for getting caught with marijuana in his car will apparently be that it wasn’t his.
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that Callaway says he recently had his car shipped to Cleveland from Florida and hadn’t used it in awhile, but that others had used his car. Callaway’s side of the story is that he allowed police to search his car not realizing there was marijuana in it.
Callaway will also claim he thought he had resolved the issue with his suspended drivers license.
Browns coach Hue Jackson sounded upset that he was just hearing of Callaway’s issue today.
“We’ll have a very strong conversation DeAndre Hopkins Jersey ,” Jackson said. “Obviously I’m disappointed.”
The Browns spent a fourth-round draft pick on Callaway despite his long history of off-field trouble at Florida. Now Callaway has failed to make it through his first training camp without more off-field trouble. Whatever his excuse is, he may be running out of chances.
